As a medic, I think her story is certainly questionable....
if her membrane ruptured, not only she, but the unborn baby (as you said 19 weeks, not yet viable) was in danger... the loss of a non-(not yet)-viable baby is a consequence, a tragic consequence, but the loss of her life, if not treated...is negligent murder..... any medical professional worth his or her salt, would have treated the woman, consoled her on the loss of the baby, but helped her celebrate, the FACT that she is alive, to try again.
so yes I think either she is spinning the story, or she had a crappy quack doctor, who should not be practicing
You do not live in Texas, and do not understand just how much fear the laws here have created for doctors. They are so afraid of being prosecuted, and hospitals afraid of being sued, that they will wait until the woman is in bad shape to prevent second guessing by idiots who think every pregnancy can be saved. Would you risk prison and a $100,000 fine to provide a procedure to a woman who is not yet at death's door, knowing you will be second guessed by a crusading DA?
Lots of people, who don’t walk around with Guttmacher Institute percentages ingrained in their brain, IN MY OPINION, underestimate the sheer NUMBER of women who require an abortion that’s vital to their health.
How many women per year in the USA need medical intervention with abortion treatment when their pregnancy has serious complications? How many PEOPLE not what percentage of abortions.
Do you know? Without looking it up?
Very few. The maternal mortality rate in the US is 0.0238%. That's 23.8 deaths per 100,000 live births. But the 'pro-kill your child' cult doesn't want you or anyone else to know that.
So if it’s a baby conceived by rape it’s ok to murder it. Ok then
Not all women who are raped and subsequently pregnant choose abortion. 85% carry the pregnancy to term. Rape accounts for only 0.3% of all abortions. There's a reason for that. It's called humanity and ethics. The child did nothing wrong.
