This sounds like a baby Built Back Better.

Maybe they should call it, "Baby Build Back Better." Would be a much better name than “The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022,” which is a really boring name. That way you could call it "Biden's Baby Build Back Better," or "Quintuple-B" for short!

Presuming it passes the hurtles listed in the article, and presuming Joe Manchin doesn't change his mind at the last minute (again!), this would mean . . . . . . . the Socialist Utopia is at hand!

Manchin and Schumer announce deal that includes energy, taxes
Quote:
Joe Manchin and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Wednesday reached a deal on a bill that includes energy and tax policy, a turnaround after the two deadlocked earlier this month in talks on Democrats’ marquee party-line agenda.

In a joint statement, the two Democrats said the legislation will be on the Senate floor next week. It includes roughly $370 billion in energy and climate spending, $300 billion in deficit reduction, three years of subsidies for Affordable Care Act premiums, prescription drug reform and significant tax changes.

Ugh, hopefully the woke/Socialist wing of the Democrat Party opposes the fossil fuel aspect of this.
This all seems so unnecessary, but then again, I guess Democrats want a final spending “hurrah!”

Please elaborate on "significant tax changes"

And, isn't this stuff supposed to start in the House? Has the House become that insignificant?

Obamacare's drowning, so why throw good money after bad, just flush it all down the toilet. Nobody can afford it, even with the subsidies, and we cannot afford any new entitlements.

Here's a little secret...WE'RE $30,500,000,000,000 IN DEBT!

If Manchin is going to do this, why not force the Dems to close the border to save Billions on that? RE-open the Keystone XL pipeline construction, force China to sell all the property its bought up here in the past few years.

So one question about "The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022"

How exactly is imposing a 15% Minimum corporate tax.
Adding 370 Billion to Climate and Energy Spending
Spending 300 Billion in "Deficit reduction"
Adding 3 more years of ACA subsidies

Going to "Reduce Inflation".

Disappointing, but let's wait and see what's actually in it. I'm curious what Manchin considers to be "not reckless spending" of three-quarters of a trillion dollars (especially during a time of rampant inflation/recession).

Maybe Sinema won't vote for it.

Will any of the Senators/Reps get a chance to read the bill before they vote on it this time?

Remember when Congress would write legislation/bills? Why don't they do that anymore? Who is writing these thousand page bills for them?

Remember when Congress would vote on 1 thing at a time, maybe a few things in a bill? Now, a simple yes or no vote, determines hundreds of new laws and regs AND they don't even have a chance to read the bill before they vote on it. There are a lot of sneaky items that are in the fine print. Insanity.

Just another path to additional inflation.

Sinema will bend the knee as they put the screws to her. She no longer has Manchin to hide behind. She's a newbie and will "fall in line" or else she'll get booted from the club.

This is so sad. I had such high hopes for Manchin. I give up with the dems. They are just dead set on destroying us. It is so sad.
