That's not surprising - good bribery material.

As far as I'm concerned, nuclear is the only reasonable "green" energy (other than hydro, but that's very limited). It's not really green, but it's as close as we'll ever get. Neither wind nor solar will ever meet our electrical energy needs.

She isn't elected by the Country, she is elected by the people of the State of Arizona. There are several things in that bill to "sweeten the pot" for her to justify voting for it.

If she has no aspirations for National Office and can go back to AZ to show what she got if the people of AZ see that as a good thing she can help her re-election.

So while not guaranteed, I think there is a good chance she will end up voting for it.

I hope she does so Arizonans punish Democrats in November and the rest of the country. Let them print more money and change the definition of recession.

Depends on what her donors paid her to do.

The Supreme Court legalized bribery this year in Ted Cruz vs. FEC. Assume all of congress is bought and paid for and will do the bidding of who is bribing them.

It’s kind of sad she won’t just come out and say where she stands. Everything about our government is conducted in this type of stupid juvenile manner. Next thing you know they will begin introducing bills that you don’t know what’s in them unless you pass them. Crazy right?

Wht9are you worried about being audited?

Defrauding the US government should be considered treason, be it by individuals, businesses and especially politicians.

Agree. Don't cheat and you won't be bothered. Everybody should pay their fair share. Establishing and maintaining our infrastructure isn't free.

But we need to get rid of all the pork barrel spending and stick with actual needs.

Anyone middle class or poor will be audited whether you cheat or not. They will look for any small discrepancies or anythhing and call you in to audit you. Middle class and the poor are who they are going after. If you think you don't cheat, then come here when you get the audit notice to complain. They are doubling the auditors and they are coming after you whether you cheat or not.

They want more money. That's why they are hired. None of us are safe from getting the dreaded audit notice. Don't be too cocky thinking you're safe.

People keep wanting to give politicians noble motivations. NewsBreak: they don't have any morals. If they did they wouldn't be politicians.

Manchin and Sinema saved the country from the Big BullS***t Bill not because of any desire to do what was right for the country, but because it gave them leverage for other bills or kickbacks to get their votes.

It's never about what is right, good or moral, it's always about how they can improve their position and power.

That's why it's called politics.

Fortunately Sinema isn't the only one who could potentially kill this monstrosity:

Meanwhile, Senator Bernie Sanders is threatening to torpedo the deal and is arguing it doesn't go far enough.

"I’m LIVE on the floor of the Senate to make clear that now is the time for MAJOR legislation that meets the needs of our people. Right now, the Inflation Reduction Act falls short of that goal."

And there are an awful lot of vulnerable Democrats in competitive House districts this November who are refusing to comment.

I'm not saying it's dead in the water (we can only hope) but it certainly ain't inevitable.
