Are Democrats trying to get us involved on multiple fronts to increase their chance of winning in '24? Of course, something as complicated as winning the presidency is never going to be about a single tactic, but do you think that if their prospects looked better for that race, they wouldn't be walking us into WWIII? Sure seems plausible, and frankly, I wouldn't put it past them. They've demonstrated over the past decade that acquiring and keeping political power is their ONLY interest.
Worked for Slick Willie. Started bombing Serbia to distract us from his scandals. We had no reason to be involved in the former Yugoslavian war, but the American people are easy to distract with a war somewhere, then they stay with whoever is in charge.

FDR got re-elected 4 times during WW2, so it works.

Reality check:

We currently have a semiconductor chip shortage in this country which borders on national crisis. As it is, 95% of the chips used in our computers, vehicles, military, telecommunications, etc, comes from Asian countries like China and the vast bunk from Taiwan. China is doing everything they can to become the world leader in chips and will stop at nothing to get there, even invading sovereign countries. Meanwhile the US is doing everything they can to cut out China altogether because of security concerns (spying apparatus) embedded in the chips, not to mention the rampant intellectual property theft of our designs that we outsource production there.

If China were to take over Taiwan before our own semiconductor fabs are on-line, we are literally screwed. We cannot afford to let them get a foot in the door because it's OUR security that is at stake here. Let them posture and wail and moan all they want. But if they make the first move into Taiwan, WE are at war. At least this way we have a chance at a diplomatic solution.

China has MORE boats...and most are corvettes, their entire navy is littoral.

They have 1.5 aircraft carriers...one actually IN service...that can barely hold and launch 3/4 of what juat ONE of our 11 aircraft carriers can.

We have 11 carrier strike groups with a total of 20 aircraft carriers...11 fixed wing and 9 VTOL carriers. 10 of our carriers are Nuclear...china's sole carrier is an old Russian refit that is diesel and has a skateboard ramp instead of launch assist.

Where China has us beat is in Washington...they own our politicians and although our hardware can't be beat...they are severely weakening our troops with social experiments and softening standards...our military is becoming a social welfare experiment instead of a warrior tribe.

Our woke military is more concerned with pronouns than proficiency!
Exactly

Repped you too.

This war started already. IMO, history will regard the first shots as being on a baseball field in Washington, DC some years ago, and it's been slowly heating to a boil since.

The violence has come almost exclusively from the Left. Remember the "summer of Love"? Remember "CHAZ"? The latter was an actual insurrection, by the way. Conservatives have been executed in the street for wearing a red hat.

You're falling for the propaganda, but we knew you would. You specifically are a mirror of the mainstream narrative. You never, ever offer anything original to a discussion, other than insults.
