Retired Green Beret Joe Kent defeated Republican Washington Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler in a primary challenge stemming from her vote to impeach former President Donald Trump in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

With 92% of ballots counted, Democrat Marie Glusenkamp Perez received 31% support, Kent received 22.8% support, and Herrera Beutler received 22.3 %. Kent, Herrera Beutler’s chief GOP challenger, raised $2.25 million and was endorsed by Trump. Several election analysts called the race on Monday night. Washington’s universal vote-by-mail rules allow voters to submit ballots up through election day, meaning that the results of races are not often immediately clear.

Fantastic! Down goes another RINO/quisling. Liz Cheney gets her just desserts in just one week, on 08/16/22. Can't wait.

Out of the 10 RINOs who voted to impeach Trump, I think 8 are gone. Good riddance to bad trash.

They called that with 1/2% point difference... and mail-ins not all counted?

I'm not sure I'd be doing backflips quite yet. Ask Hillary how that works.

Funny that for many, RINO is only classified as loyalty to Trump.

Cook PVI +4 for this district. GOP likely to hold the seat.

Forget about loyalty to Trump. I'm about loyalty to the Constitution. If people attacked Trump's behavior and comments or what he should/shouldn't have said, I have no problem with that (though I will call out hypocrisy if they were silent about equally bad Democrat behavior and comments). But to impeach Trump for inciting a riot when he stated that his supporters should "peacefully and patriotically" make their voices heard is insane. Democrats weaponized the impeachment process, both the first time and the second time. Republicans going along with that nonsense are rightfully being defeated in their primaries by and large (or choosing not to run again).

Most Dems want these candidates defeated because they seem to believe the pro Trump candidates will fare worse in November when in reality it’s probably the opposite.

Depends on the district.
R+40 is a lock
D+1 held by a GOP person is a severe risk.

R+4 which is this district... As long as the person does not start channeling their inner crazy MGT, things should hold for the GOP.
