Almost all of it would not be great when it comes to government welfare. It incentivize people to not work.

Why should someone work a harder, higher paying job when they are paid not too? Plus all the fraud and corruption associated with these programs.

Let each individual decide if they want to help and how they want to help.

Work from home is a wonderful when one has kids.

(I am talking BASIC, but absolutely adequate food, shelter, and clothing and public transportation where available, or enough for one basic car where public transportation is not available.)

- Every U.S. citizen would be entitled to basic healthcare, paid through taxes. This healthcare would include free contraception as well as free prenatal care and all costs associated with giving birth.

- Companies would provide full-time employees with at least 120 hours of paid personal time (sick time, miscellaneous PTO, vacation time, and holidays) per year, prorated at ten hours per month after the first month, with a two-year "use it or lose it" policy. In addition to this, someone could take an additional six months off without pay in the case of a birth or "family emergency" without risk of losing one's job.

- Where possible, flex time and working from home would be available to those who request it.

- That public schools would NOT teach promote any social or political viewpoints or opinions as FACT.
I can agree to most of this, as long as it only includes families of US citizens AND greatly prorated if the parents are illegally or paroled into the US for any reason, like what Biden is now doing AND have a child that is born in the US. If there are no US born children, then no family benefits.

If the parents are LEGAL PERMANENT RESIDENTS, then they get the full benefits just like a citizen of the US.

The problem with even attempting to do something like this is that one of the two current political parties will automatically grant the same benefits to everybody to include every single illegal that enters the country which will bankrupt the system or reduce the overall benefits to every single US citizen to support the illegal population.

Heck, make everything free.
Oh yeah, if everything were free there would be nothing.

Government needs to get out of our day to day lives.
No, not for everyone. Assistance for those things would start for married couples after the first child.

While I don't know if it can be said that the Hungarian government's family policy has been a total failure , it actually has caused a number of problems with respect to contributing to inflation along with the fact of said program oftentimes being taken advantage of by couples already likely to have kids in an irresponsible manner ( i.e. without being able to properly afford them ) , thus making this project not all that worthy of emulation IMHO .

That said in terms of what I personally favor in terms of pro family policy , I'd have to say that strengthening the traditional extended family structure is on the whole beyond the ability of the state to achieve , what with it being rooted at the lowest organic levels of society itself .

In all honesty I'm not sure if I or anyone else can come up with a proper blueprint for pro family political policies , but I'll nonetheless attempt to do so while including the whole scope of society as opposed to just the state :

1 . Promotion of the traditional extended family structure via artistic/literary/pop culture means .

The power of art or ( more relevantly today ) pop culture in shaping people's perception of things cannot obviously be understated , which is why it would be so important for a new crop of artists/writers/filmmakers and so forth to arise , who would promote the traditional extended family structure via use of their creative works .

A sort of " counter Hollywood " if you will , that could slowly change people's perception of the institution of the family as such in favor of a revival of the traditional definition .

2 . Leading by example via practicing the lifestyle of the traditional extended family .

More people should start leading this sort of lifestyle as exemplified by families moving closer together , for instance the widespread present day practice of grandparents/uncles/aunts/cousins living halfway around the country should be eschewed in favor of living in the same settlement if not on the same street , with more couples choosing to take the traditional division of household labor as well .

3 . Promotion of agrarianism .

It's no secret that traditional close knit families along with the communities that nurture them , emerge/thrive the best in rural surroundings , which is why promotion of rural living should be taken into consideration as well .

A new crop of developers should strive to build housing that would favor the appearance of village type communities as opposed to the atomizing suburbs that have dotted the American landscape for far too long and as far as the state is concerned economic incentive ( such as generous tax breaks ) should be given to smallholders of family farms .

In a nutshell these are the pro family policies I personally favor , though I've likely left out a few much more noteworthy ones as well .

It would likely look like a party from the Netherlands.

Once you remove the silly culture war garbage, the things that help families in modern society involve things some Americans would reactively call Socialist.

The bolded is true, but misleading. Dems are also pro-family if you are a traditional couple. Why did you leave that out? I think Dems are well intended most of the time, but often their policies have unintended effects.

And (since it seems one has to say this every time now) yes, I do realize that some Democratic policies are not helpful to families.

Republicans also are pro-family, even if I don't agree with all of their policies. They believe in a more traditional family, and there is nothing wrong with that. They fall short in trying to legislate how people choose to form their families. How about just getting out of the way, and let people live by THEIR values. Two guys, two girls, or a man and woman who happen to be of Hispanic descent are not hurting anyone. Let them be. I think that Republicans are well intended most of the time, but often their policies have unintended effects.

Well, the same people who pay for all the military handouts, not to mention the huge sums of bailout money already given to the largest banks and insurance companies.

Reading really helps in one's efforts to find the truth of things, here's some that may shed light on your question....

Wholesome. truly.

I wonder sometimes if people understand what they post.
What is a family? Adoption? Are adoption records still sealed? Read many stories in the news where adoptees have tried to find their birth mothers, and if found, discover their birth mothers want nothing to do with them. Don't think this might be another reason for an abortion? Don't want this child to come looking for me 20 years later? Others have also said they want to discover their biological medical traits. Today that can be found out with DNA testing.

Personally I think it is cruel to look for birth mothers. Their adoptive parents loved and raised them. They ARE your parents! Leave your "birth mothers" alone unless THEY choose to find YOU.
