Ford and GM just announced they are raising electric vehicles prices $7,500. So the 7.5k tax credit just becomes corporate welfare. Who didn’t see this coming?

"Who didn't see what coming? I usually see everything, because I'm married to a doctor! I mean I think she's an eye doctor. Isn't she? Repeat line. Isn't she?"
Lol yeah. THe inflation reduction act accidentally hurt the Electric vehicle agenda hahah by accident.
Making it so they have to be produced in America and with insane labor costs especially for things like complex high voltage batteries will make them even more expensive and disqualify them form tax credit.
Hahahah.
Like someone said in another thread the only time democrats do something good is by accident!!
ICE vehicles will live on for decades+++ to come!!!
They will never take my ICE vehicles nor choices to buy on the lot from my cold dead hands for decades to come!!

It is true the price increases on existing models in their inventory seem to compare (but not exactly match) the tax credit but Daily Wire conveniently completely disregarded that all the inventory these companies havenow does not qualify for the tax credit. The tax credit only applies to models 100% American produced & the qutomakers are made that the tax credit doesn't apply to their existing inventory.
So --- I think Daily Wire is making an assumption that may not fit. It may be the actual increase cost of production. We are seeing price increases on everything why would automakers not have the same hit.
I would have thought that the automakers would lower the price of their existing inventory to clear it because folks will wait until the qualified EV's are available for purchase rather than purchase these models.
Once again -- thinking this media outlet took some info, twisted it and left out some very important info so that it can support the marrative they want to push.

Under "Republican" Leadership there would be Democrats screaming from every direction saying how the Conservatives are the "Party of Corporate America" and the "Rich". But since it is a Democrat...Silencio...Crickets...Nothing...
Now, of course, the price increases are not EXACTLY $7,500. I mean that would be too obvious even for the most radical democrat supporter. So it's only $6,500 or $7,000...yea continues to believe that this "incentive" had nothing to do with that.
At this point, I don't know what is more frustrating...that the Democrats are basically getting away with this, or that about half the Country still is defending them.
The above article suggests that Ford EV sales are doing very well as they increase their market share of EV's.
I suspect they are confident that they can recover the increase costs of production by raising their price.......it will be interesting to see if demand wanes with the increased prices or continues to grow that market.
