Riverside County sheriff blames judge for allowing release of man accused of killing deputy

https://abc7.com/riverside-county-sh...ckay/12635454/

Anyone else think judges should be charged with a criminal offense when they do crap like this?
The career convict had already been convicted yet the judge still released him, and he later kills a cop.
Why can't people understand that violent repeat offenders need to be kept permanently behind bars? Why is that so hard to comprehend?

The incompetent judge in question is Judge Cara D. Hutson.

Yes the judges should be held accountable but how?

I think we can all appreciate judges being easy on first time offenders and reducing bail or sentence time. We can even understand how some people will have their bonds posted by special interest groups BUT what we cannot conceive is when judges and bonds let hard core criminals back out on the street.

This loser has a long rap sheet of violent crimes going back 20 years. He should have been locked up for 20 years.

When will these soft on crime fools realize that innocent people are being hurt and killed by their policies?

I guess we will have to start holding judges who let off obviously-dangerous long-time violent criminals responsible for the upcoming crimes. Charge them as accessories to murder or whatever. Bet that would stop the stupidity real fast.

They can recall judges in CA. They did a few years ago. But that was because a guy hooked up with a drunken woman who passed out. Much more important than killing a cop. Haven't you heard? We are winning the war against the cops. And when the cops are all dead or in prison we will be living in a peaceful paradise.

I don't particularly like or agree with you on most topics, but in this you are spot on. Just what I was going to say. Reps to you.

Well... once in awhile, there is agreement around here, even amongst political/philosophical foes.

The killer was a 3 striker for serious violent crimes

20 years ago in CA he would have spent the rest of his life in prison.

It's California. Nuff said. Anyone who still lives there deserves what they get. It's like feeling pity for people who buy a home in Tornado alley, or on the beach in the Florida Keys, or dressing up nice and walking the streets at night on Calumet Street in South Chicago. Don't complain when you get hurt, cuz you knew the risks were extremely high going in.

I get what you mean, but wouldn't that just motivate judges to lock up just about anyone that might be a risk, even one time offenders?

Because we have so many judges who get off on virtue signaling, is the reason why we see these mandatory sentencing laws getting passed.

It's sad, but too many judges are stupid people who are more politician than they are a competent courtroom judge. But then we are talking about CA, and their legislature will never hold a judge to account. The crusade for wokeness is too important for the left, and if they need to break a few hundred eggs, so be it.

This doesn't happen only in California. A LEO was just shot and killed by an ex-con in PA. According to this article, the perp "...had an extensive criminal history and in 2014 was sentenced to three years in prison for shooting another police officer".

Three years. That's it. He should have never walked the streets again as a free man and now we have a dead LEO thanks to this ridiculously low sentence.
