His leadership is awesome, and worth accolades.

An aside, back in the first days of the assault on Ukraine on this forum, people were calling for him to be named Person of the Year.
^^^^^Best Response so far. This was an excellent choice for what will be a very historic leader.

A good choice for person of the year. Remember, it is not based on who was the "best", but rather who had the greatest impact. I think Hitler was man of the year once.

What could have been a quick invasion to topple the Ukrainian government and install a puppet regime was turned into a protracted conflict that exposed the weakness of the vaunted Russian Army and exhibited the bravery and tenacity of the Ukrainian people. Zelensky deserves a lot of the credit for that.

  • Xi Jinping
  • U.S. Supreme Court
  • Elon Musk
  • Rep. Liz Cheney
  • MacKenzie Scott
  • Protesters in Iran
  • Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis
  • Gun safety advocates
  • U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen

Musk wasn't going to win, he got the honor last year when he was more of a leftist favorite. Have to admit that seeing DeSantis on this list was a bit surprising, but would have been shocked if they actually selected him.
Surprising that Biden wasn't on the list. Because much or the credit for Zelensky's accomplishment goes to Biden's skill in holding the NATO alliance together, presenting a united front and providing western arms to resist the Russian invasion.

You are correct...it's not about good or evil but the impact the person had on the year...and let's face it Zelensky literally changed the entire geo-political strategic calculations people have made and turned them on their heads.

In a country at war.

Should he allow Russian agents to freely organize and subvert?

The Russian Orthodox Church which is just a puppet for the Russian government and Russian nationalism.

It was probably tough for them to decide between Zelensky and Sam Bankman-Fraud
Nope. Hard for them to choose between Zelensky and Joe Biden's handlers. Since nobody knows who the latter are.
