The payments would be $1,000 for 2 years, so $24,000 payment to person experiencing homelessness in Portland.
They just want to waste money because for that price they could build 20+ sheds that people could stay at 7 or 8 months out of the year because of the moderate Portland climate from late March until November.
With Portland's moderate climate they could have sheds with no A/C and no heat for 7 or 8 months of occupancy out of the year which better than just $24,000 giveaways.
That city has so much vacant land in the form of parks and open-space, close to jobs and health care but liberals want it to remain parks.
They have so much land in Portland that for $24,000 they could build dozens of nice sheds with a bed and a bathroom facility so that people could have a place to sleep, so they are ready to go to work the next morning.
Liberal will NEVER learn since they cannot process reality from La La Land BS.
Like everything else they touch, it will blow up and have the complete opposite effect on the situation and honestly will only make it far worse before “they” solution to solve the problem they caused in the first place.
Somebody please name ONE liberal policy that has actually worked within the last 10 years since I can’t think of one.
Great, hopefully the panhandlers and beggars in Florida will move to Oregon.
I was thinking the same, maybe this will draw some of the street people from CO to Oregon, although I’m sure liberal CO will think this is a great idea and try to emulate it.
The big winners in this will be the nearby cities whose homeless population will relocate to Portland.
