Funny money. We could have a quadrillion dollars in national debt and the government would just keep "printing" and spending. They don't care. I don't think Americans do either.

Sadly enough, you are right.

EVERY thread I start about spending, debt, interest on the debt, debt as a % of GDP, ect.. falls flat.

It is a BORING topic to discuss, nobody feels like they can change it, so they'd rather talk about transgender people having sex with farm animals, & farmer's changing the sex of their cows.

By the way, the OP mentions a national debt of 26.5T, when its ~31.5T....why the variance?

https://www.usdebtclock.org/index.html?taxpayer

in this link, pay special attn to the federal debt to GDP percent...now 120%...that is the most important stat...in case anyone cares

If debt was as bad as the libertarian/conservatives on here would have us believe, then Japan should have fallen apart decades ago.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_debt_of_Japan

Yet they haven’t.

Don’t like debt. Cut military and raise taxes on the wealthy. More than enough money there.

How much money is unaccounted for in the Pentagon?

Most of our debt is caused by irresponsible tax cuts and wars on false pretenses to get foreign resources for the wealthy. Let’s start correcting that.

The financial brick wall is approaching... when reserve currency status is removed.

Who is going to want to use the dollar when we don't value it ourselves?

It already is removed. You can buy oil in Yuan now. The petro dollar is a relic of the past at this point. The USA isn't capable of regime changing every entity that wants to trade oil in things other than USD.

Biden and the dems will instead work on the PedoDollar, where Jeffry Epstein left off. When push comes to shove, democrats will do anything and everything in their power to maintain their standard of living/lifestyle/wealth... Including things that can only be described as evil. Democrats were the party of slavery, Jim Crow laws, segregation, etc. Evil doesn't stop being evil. It simply evolves. History doesn't forget. And it sometimes is a good predictor of the future trends that will take place.

If you don't think democrats would do that to children, than answer this one question... Which party is pushing for genital mutilation for children here in the USA?

When people say the collapse is on the horizon, the only thing I have to say is, not soon enough... I will happily accept a temporary lower standard of living to put a stop to what the democrats are doing to America and it's citizens.

Raising taxes on the wealthy results in less government revenue, not more.

That's not true. There were a lot of republicans/conservatives that despised that element of Trump's presidency, along with other issues. There was a significant fracturing in the republican base that took place as a result. Many republicans didn't vote for Trump as a result, and that may have cost him the election.

Who has the largest impact on the "purse?" Congress! Who controlled Congress during much of Trump's time in office? Plenty of people were raising the debt flag over the last several administrations.....nobody is listening...both parties like spending!
