In other news, North Carolina is making a pitch for Disney to move north.
North Carolina State Sen. Michael Garrett (D) has "filed Senate Bill 594, the “Mickey’s Freedom Restoration Act,” to give Disney a place to move the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT Center, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and all those other parks, hotels and golf courses."
"“In North Carolina, we’ve learned this lesson the hard way. When HB2, the so-called ‘bathroom bill’ passed, other states capitalized on our state’s disgraceful misstep."
so a corporation should dictate what is taught in schools? sounds like a slippery slope. you can’t have it both ways. government overreach isn’t what happens when government kills entire industries, right?
No, but our Supreme Court ruled Corporations have a right to political speech and that can include both Money spent for backing issues and actual speech by those representing the corporation. Speech, especially political speech, is considered protected speech per the Federal constitution, and its also in the State Constitution of Florida.
So Disney is well within its right to push as hard as they want using protect speech just as much as you are I have the right to do and the Government State or Federal can inhibit or work to squash that speech.
Never know what courts are going to do these days so we will see. Might not even get that far if DeSantis and Disney work this out before it goes too far.

Disney properties currently covers about 43 square miles in Central Florida.
Was posted in the other Disney thread, and the idea is as hilarious as it is ridiculous as NC weather doesn’t fit what Disney is able to do 365 days a year, and Disney isn’t ever moving.

Disney has done nothing of the sort. They merely objected to DeSantis' right wing policies.
