Umm... no.

The VP nominee is supposed to pull votes the top of the ticket does not appeal to. You have 2 white male conservatives on the ticket. What is the point? For example, a Hispanic VP nominee may pull in that voter demographic, which you need to get over the top.

Having black woman Kamala Harris was supposed to pull in the minority vote, to offset Biden being an old white guy.

DeSantis should offer Tucker Carlson his VP candidacy slot

Why not? Because character matters. And it is especially important at the top of our government.

The best index to a person’s character is how he or she treats people who can’t do him or her any good, and how he or she treats people who can’t fight back. Must I argue that point when it comes to Tucker? Or to DeSantis or Donald Trump for that matter?

These authoritarian bully types may be attractive to a certain segment of our populace who think governing is a game and politics is blood sport, but the majority of Americans know differently. We have grave & significant issues facing our country and we need quality leadership to solve them. These guys have no interest in solving them. They are obsessed only with creating cultural divides & manufacturing grievances and then telling their followers who to blame for them.

In some of the many threads on this forum that seem to be pushing DeSantis--- as is this one by musing about a running mate for him---I often comment that Ron DeSantis intends to be America's Viktor Orbán as he is far too willing to embrace the GOP’s authoritarian element & their radical extremist wing and to use state power to punish his enemies. Tucker Carlson is a prime example of that extremist element, and he used his platform to promulgate it. C'mon, he did shows from Hungary fawning all over Orbán just as he praises Putin. He lied about and mocked America & Americans nightly and harmed people and the nation in the process.

These guys mentioned in the OP are of bad character. Presidential and vice-presidential candidates need to be patriots of American principles and value our Constitutional Republic, and what it stands for. They may win the popularity contest for bully cruelty but IMO they belong nowhere near a leadership position in the very important business of governance of the United States of America and advocating for we the people...ALL of us, not just their fans.
