I'd bet money that many Chicago voters have a different mindset on how to treat violent offenders than voters in San Clemente.

I know their respective mayors don't seem to have anything in common.

Now I can just hope that the Prosecutor follows through. At the very least perhaps actually getting arrested and taken down to Juvenile hall may "scare straight" a couple of them.
Call me skeptical but I think those violent offenders are far beyond being "scared straight".

We have four options.

1. Let them go and embolden them
2. Kill them or imprison them for life
3. Shove them through our criminal justice system so they become worse criminals with less non-criminal prospects
4. Actually have a rehabilitative criminal justice system

I don’t think anyone that age is beyond being “scared straight”. These kids would benefit from some sort of boot camp situation. Remember when that used to be an option for juveniles?

As someone that has been affiliated with the military for my entire life I think ANY attack on a member of the military, in uniform or not, should be a Federal offense. They are, after all, Federal employees. I mean you have to go to federal court for a traffic ticket received for a violation on Federal land. Aren't our military deserving of protection from feral animals?

Also, anyone charged with a Federal offense should always be charged as an adult even if they are below the age of majority.

This is Mob Mentality. A strike against one is a strike against all and they all retaliate.

One wonders how far the mob would have gone if others did not come in to break up the beating? Would they have kicked those Marines to death?

And to think it all started with a cowards sucker punch as the Marines were leaving. Throw the book at those that were arrested. Have them turn over their friends that were also involved and make them all pay for their crime.

We are seeing more of this type of senseless violence and we have to ask why are people so angry? If one in the mob had a gun would he have used it? Society is circling the Drain.

You couldn’t pay me to step foot inside California. Beautiful state but the residents are monsters.

There are only pockets of these losers in the big cities. The further N on the W Coast you go it appears to get worse. San Diego doesn't really have these types of insanity. Probably because you can't throw a stick around here without bouncing off a marine or navy type. I actually dare these clowns to try that downtown San Diego where there are marines all over heck.

At least they arrested them.

A couple years back there was a flash mob attack on a BART train with assaults and robberies.

The good news? Camera footage.

The bad news? They wouldn't show it to help identify attackers because it may reinforce stereotypes...wonder how many people those kids have hurt since then.
