I've said it for a long time, we need something new. In the past, we've elected D&R, we're always falling behind and we can never get ahead because each party blames each other.

This is by design. The 1 percenters run the show. Even if we created a 3rd Party, this too would become compromised and corrupted by big dollars.

Never forget politicians work for the big corporations, not its citizens. A 3rd Party would be no different.

I have voted Libertarian for every Presidential election since the first George Bush.
One year the Libertarian party got 3.3% of the vote...closest they have come to the 5% needed for official third party recongnition.

I'm just waiting for the rest of you folks to catch up.

Not that I'm a Libertarian mind you. But I think we need an officially recognized third party to wake the hell up the other two.

Which while the call for a 3rd party vote is what is needed. The fact is that the movement for a 3rd party doesn't have the backing and whichever party the person breaks from, it would just about guarantee a victory for the other party.

If DeSantis ends up with the Nomination and Trump ends up running Independent, the Democrats will be victorious. If say JFK Jr. Ran as an Independent, it would give the Republican the Presidency.

Any calls for a 3rd Party have to start from the Ground up and aren't something that is going to happen in a single Presidential Election cycle.
A televised talk to the American People by Bush verbalizing support for the New World Order, yes he used those very words, sealed Bush's loss as well.

The only recent opportunity that a 3rd party had was 2016. People are WAY too partisan now and any rising 3rd party would only siphon votes from only one of the two major parties, leaving the other with a stranglehold on power.

No, the solution is change from within. That's what the Marxists did with the Democratic Party and that's what the liberty movement needs to do with the Republican Party. It's already started - all those congresspeople you smear on a daily basis represent that contingent. It'll continue.

The one thing both parties are good at is keeping their voters in line.

He was in first place then quit his campaign because there was chatter that his daughters upcoming wedding was going to be tampered with. He got back in but never regained the lead. All he ended up doing was taking enough votes away from Bush so Clinton won.

You are describing the Libertarian party. I am fine with the GOP on fiscal issues. But their social stuff is based on paranoia and conspiracies.

Perot didn't take votes away from Bush. Clinton would have won a landslide victory in a 2 man race with Bush.

When Perot dropped out in July, Clinton ballooned to a 20+ point lead over Bush in a 2 man race. Polls consistently showed him with a huge lead through September. Perot then re-entered the race in October.

Here's an analysis of Perot's impact:

Aligning with modern interpretations of the election, our VRS analysis quantitatively confirms that Perot did not spoil President Bush’s reelection. In fact, returns suggest that, overall, Perot voters actually would have preferred Clinton over Bush.

The ONLY thing a third party candidate would do is take votes away from one of the major candidates.

We don't need a repeat of Ross Perot.
