Don't ever forget what Democrats have done to one of the greatest cities in the world.
The address of '1 Powell' used to be the premier location in the city. It's right outside of the touristy cable car turn-about, BART+Muni station, and of course Union Square shopping is around the corner. It's across the street from the Westfield urban shopping mall that just stopped paying it's mortgage.

The location of the AT&T flagship store which closed is fantastic. Powell Street Station, the cable car, tourists... all right there.
No question the mayor's office is in full panic mode. They've got to fill the empty stores. They need to offer businesses the sweetest of sweetheart deals. And the SFPD will need at least two command centers in the downtown area. In one of the videos I noticed an SFPD officer in front of a Starbucks. I also noticed a Walgreens that is still open which surprised me. My guess is they've got SFPD inside.
Right now, local officials need to be concerned about one thing and one thing only the on-going "Doom Loop."
The problem with SF is this: It's competely mismanaged and many of the problems are a direct result of polices. And that was fine when city coffers overflowed with tax revenue. For its size SF was probably one of the wealthiest cities in the country.
But the tax revenue has begun to slow and if this continues...good luck.
How long will wealthy residents be willing to pay 20k in property taxes for deteriorating city services?
