I've heard these stories before but it is getting worse. People complain about the rents which are horrible but you have landlords that put up with not receiving rent for years due to Covid and then situations like this and their hands are tied.

Just think - since this happened only a couple of days after his previous renter moved out - we could go on vacation for a week and come home to find out we have no place to live because someone squatted in it while we were gone.

I joked that my son's house is sealed up like Fort Knox with the security alarms and cameras all over the house but I guess you really need it these days

In 1920's -30's Soviet Union land owners (middle class) who resisted allowing the state to confiscate their land, farms and ranches in the name of "equity" where deemed bandits, criminals and enemies of the state. The communists gave themselves sole right to decide which land owners owned too much and the state had the right to dictate who got to live where with how much.

ABL was talking about this on youtube. I can't believe the stupidity these days and how criminals have all the rights and hardworking people don't
It is all ridiculous but you have to follow the law. I have had properties to flip and I have purchased with squatters on them.

The difference being the far left Democrats are encouraging and using legislation and the legal system they control to enable and expand this.

Look how the far left in San Francisco treated land owners and landlords since COVID only this year are they allowing landlords to evict and collect rents, 2-3 years after COVID started. Meanwhile land owners were forced to pay property tax while their property was squatted on and destroyed by people who don't care.

This is a social justice imperative of shoveling what is to them the left over **** of income inequality right onto your bed, literally. Homelessness metastases is another action. Shoplifting crime spree holiday, is yet another.

Yep! I have friends who are Democrats and I follow my local Reddit sub, and the prevailing idea in the minds of these leftists is that housing is a “human right,” folks shouldn’t be allowed to own more than one home, and anyone who owns a rental property is rich and greedy. So even if, for example, you are not wealthy, but you inherit a house from a grandparent and decide to use it as a rental to generate some extra income, YOU are the problem. So, Democrats always side with the tenant even if the tenant is in the wrong.

Sad that there are so many folks on this forum who emphatically support Joe Biden and Democrats.

You are trying to redirect the argument. the other poster said nothing about anti eviction orders which all 50 states had, red or blue. They mentioned squatters in general, which have existed forever.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but Biden has nothing to do with it.

Squatting = adverse possession. Adverse possession is a feature of British common law, which is how we ended up with it, and is hundreds of years old. It is not necessarily criminal. Biden has nothing to do with it.

Obviously, these laws need updating. But they are STATE laws. Biden has nothing to do with it.

Red counties should secede from cities.
