Families separated at the U.S.-Mexico border under former President Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy would receive an easier path to asylum, permission to work in the U.S. and medical, legal and housing benefits, under a settlement filed Monday in a long-standing lawsuit between immigrant advocates and the federal government.

Two things, families were separated at the border when it was suspected that these families weren't families at all but children brought here by trafficters.

Also, children can't be jailed with there kids so just what was wrong with these policy that separated families? Those were our laws! Trump warned them that families could be separated under both scenarios but they came any way.

So now they might be rewarded with asylum, jobs, medical and housing? WTH?

These people broke the law. When American citizens break the law, they are separated from their kids with no form of compensation… SO, WHY WOULD WERE REWARD ILLEGAL ALIENS WHO BROKE THE LAWS IN THE FIRST PLACE?! We accept that this is the norm with American citizens, so it should be the norm with illegal aliens, without question.

Just another example of Leftist backwards and broken thinking. AND we can see everyday failed examples of anything when you allow yourself to follow Leftist ideas.

What’s the big deal about separating illegal immigrants who are children from their illegal immigrant parents? Americans who are imprisoned for their crimes are separated from their kids. Why the special treatment for illegal aliens?

The current penalty for illegal entry into the USA is a $50-$250 fine and/or up to 6 months in jail.

When the USA gets serious about illegals maybe they will get serious. The fine should be at least double what they'd pay a coyote.

AFA children separated from parents, the very least the government should have done is to keep track of the kids and who their parents were. It's a damn shame they didn't.

Should children pay for the sins of their fathers and mothers?

Yep, a double standard for sure. First illegals enter our country illegally with their kids and then are rewarded for it at a later date. Bizzaro world we live in today.

Our government tried to but many of these parents couldn't be found. Maybe they didn't want to be?

Should children be "rewarded" for the sins of their fathers and mothers? Just how are they supposedly paying for it anyway?

My friend they have more rights and benefits than citizens.

We're just here to fund their lifestyle.

If expelled and coming in again and caught, it is a felony at that point, yet we would need a POTUS who supports the laws of our country in order that to work the way it was meant to.

No fines, just be expelled.

No, children should not pay for the sins (crimes) of their fathers and mothers, but:

https://www.prisonpolicy.org/blog/20...incarceration/

"Nearly half (47%) of the approximately 1.25 million people in state prison are parents of minor children, and about 1 in 5 (19%) of those children is age 4 or younger. Altogether, parents in state prison reported roughly 1.25 million minor children, meaning the number of people in state prison almost exactly mirrors the number of impacted minor children. Research indicates that children of incarcerated parents face formidable cognitive and health-related challenges throughout their development."

The illegal alien and fake asylum seeker parents have ripped this children from everything they know in their mother country, and risked the lives of their children to get here, or those children they kidnap believing have children with them will get them in the country and "set up". If those countries were so horrible, why are not the millions still there making the same trek?

I have no issue sending the entire family all back to their mother country per our laws.
