LONDON, Feb 14 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview broadcast on Wednesday that he preferred Joe Biden to Donald Trump but was willing to work with any U.S. president.
Putin was asked by interviewer Pavel Zarubin who was "better for us" out of Biden, a Democrat, and Trump, a Republican. Putin replied without hesitation: "Biden. He is a more experienced, predictable person, a politician of the old school."
Meh. Not sure I expect Mr. Putin to speak his mind honestly on this. I'd be surprised if he doesn't understand that whoever he "supports" in the US presidential election that would be a liability for that candidate. The man is a lot of things, including ruthless, but dumb I don't think is one of them.
Also, this would explain why Russia didn't bother trying to interfere in the 2020 election after having tried helping Trump in the 2016 election. Putin obviously decided he'd rather deal with a sane, stable and predictable adversary than an unstable and unpredictable one.
Old school politicians are easy for nancy-boy-Putin to handle.
He could never cope with Trump's impulsivity.
Putin was never going to invade Ukraine with Trump in the White House.
Hamas/Israel were never going to go WW3 with Trump in the White House either.
China too, loves Biden and the lack of trade wars...
Biden has served as Vice President and President. During both his tenures in those positions, Russia got frisky with its neighbors.
Trump has served as President. During his term, Russia did nothing to its neighbors.
Some things really are as simple as they appear.
