The current economic situation in China is dour, and it’s estimated some 20-50 million Chinese will eventually emigrate to other countries. So where will these millions go? It appears the answer for many is “USA”, as Chinese nationals now make up the largest group entering the Tucson sector of our southern border with Mexico. The Chinese expats apparently fly to Ecuador first because Ecuador signed a no-visa deal with China, and next they travel to Mexico and enter the U.S. where the gates are now wide open.
Most countries in South and Central America have strict immigration policies, and a foreigner caught without a visa would be thrown in jail until their relatives pay hefty fines and purchase a plane ticket for them to leave. Obviously there are “facilitators” who move these people from Ecuador to the U.S. border (for a fee) and avoid legal issues along the way.
So which political faction in the U.S. most favors Chinese immigration? I doubt it’s the Democrats because Chinese are typically better educated than average Americans. Republicans might see them as future voters and then there is the whole Mitch McConnell/Elaine Chao thing, where Chao is the daughter of one of the world’s wealthiest Asians.
I welcome Chinese immigrants (unless spies of the CCP) because they're intelligent and industrious and enrich every country they emigrate to.
That’s the problem. There absolutely are spies embedded with the normal immigrants. Their job is to do espionage and further China’s goals of overtaking the US.
The border needs to be shut immediately even though it’s probably too late either way.

As a country we absolutely need immigration. But it appears now that both sides of the political aisle want the borders open to serve their own interests.
“In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity”
Chinese Americans lean moderately left although not that much. Absent one party doing their best to denigrate them and alienate them as voters, it won't have much of an impact since it's a very moderate lean.

Why not North America... Canada, US and Mexico. Canada needs people the most.
I don't believe the average Chinese citizen is allowed to leave China without govt authorization.
So that means then that the Chinese people that are allowed to leave are doing the behest of the CCP.
This is a post from another web site that answers your question from a Chinese citizens view point.
Oh, boy. It depends on the way you want to escape from China.
If you are a young man with clean background and are good at studying, you can choose to go abroad to receive education and then stay at work to get the chance to immigrate.
If you are rich and have a business mind, you can try to obtain the right to stay in other countries through investment.
If you are an "activist" who has received official attention, then escaping from here becomes very strategic:
1, you need to make a decision, whether to let your anti-government stance become too hot, the more hot, the more likely it is to get asylum from western countries, but the more hot it means the more difficult it is to escape. US will not pay for anti-China people who have not proved their ability.
2. You need to consider whether your anti-China skills are outstanding. Now too many dissidents from China have received US funding. This is a highly competitive field. If your story is not attractive enough, you will soon lose your financial resources.
3. You need to choose the time and place, and your disposable companions. The same behavior may have different effects in Shanghai in 2016 and Hong Kong in 2019. The guy who attacks the police on the street may eventually be arrested, but secretly meeting a CIA officials may win you an invitation to enter a western university.
All this is not simple. The persecuted Chinese people appearing in the western media every day are always those few faces. Think about whether you can be better at it than them.
