Well, he has been an "adult" a LOT longer than most people in any room! The "elderly man with the poor memory".

How do they know they are stolen?

Rich white liberals maybe don't realize, or those adult kiddies don't realize what things cost, because of the bank of "Mom and Dad".

They want socialism, but only because they don't have a clue what it is, how it really works, or how the European countries (exception I think is Portugal) that tried it, gave it up. I think North Korea is an example, and Laos. Maybe those that want it could just relocate and leave us alone.

"The article says as much." Oh, come on, did you think they would read?

Bidenomics in action, can we survive another 8 months?

"SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Whether gas, groceries or bills, everyone is feeling the pain of inflation. Now, some people in the ArkLaTex are trying to make ends meet by selling or pawning items."

I can make it a little easier:

One man cannot fix a corrupt society.

It has to be a grassroots movement.
You know..like don't vote for corrupt politicians to begin with.
Don't always take what politicians or the MSM tell you...go off and find some research and/or government reports and read them for yourself.

Knowledge is gaining power
believing propaganda/data manipulation is giving away your power

Indeed, and lets not forget the Instant Check Cashing stores just a few steps away from the Pawn Shops, and naturally the Bail Bond shops within steps as well.

Nothing. Well, no, make that not getting my shorts in a twist about people selling stuff they don't want in order to get a little cash. It's not like this is a new thing. I sold a dog house on Facebook Marketplace last week. Go, me.

Reputable pawn shops cross-check items with police, require ID, etc.

It's USAtoday, not exactly foxnews. Instead of trying to gaslight people about alternate reasons like a sudden surge in anti-materialism...you could try to imagine poor people just trying to get by.

I moved from a town where median household income was >100k to one where it is <50k.

I think the disconnect is that some people just have little to no real interaction with poorer people. Sure, they may have some distant peripheral interaction but do you ever have real contact with people that are poor? I do despite my family being in great financial shape and it's not something to just dismiss.

Pawn shops can be good places to find deals on tools & guns. Might be time to make the rounds at the local shops.

It's basic common sense that when basics like food and rent skyrocket that the poor get squeezed.

We can set aside all politics for a second and just reflect upon that.

No offense but you come off sounding REALLY bougey. Just take politics out of it, do you not hang out with anyone that is poor? I did just this Saturday, they don't have credit cards, pay rent, lease their cars etc (one doesn't own a car and has no SS coming, maybe of uncertain status lo entiendes?). My annual bonus is likely well more than half of what some of my friends make a year, but I don't ignore their situation and try to claim that making $40 off fb marketplace means people aren't struggling.

P.S. I grew up eating from a large garden and wearing my older cousins 2nd hand clothes to school. Taught me a lot.

That's because people have more money these days and don't need to go to pawn shops to buy cheap stuff.

It's also the same reason why dollar stores are struggling.

Hilarious the right-wingers think this is bad news for Biden but they don't think it through and realize it's actually a reflection of rising incomes.
