I would advise anyone to the right of Stalin to stay far away from that convention. There will be efforts to create a narrative of right wing violence even if 95% of any violence is from the left and only 5% is from non-leftists. That 5% of non leftist agitators can expect to get the Jan6 treatment while that 95% of leftist agitators can expect the "Kamala Harris raising money for your bail" treatment.

Chicago 1968: ten thousand protesters demonstrated outside the convention hall. Hundreds of police in riot gear brutally beat and gassed the demonstrators.
Chicago 2024: maybe there will be a few hundred people chanting slogans. Police will stand by, or protect them from counter demonstrators.

You must have missed the protest at just a fundraiser in NYC. If this conflict is still going on, its going to be ugly outside.

Perhaps but if there is one proud boy in a crowd with 100 antifa rioters in it you know which person is going to end up on the nightly news, and likely an FBI watch list.

If there's one single right leaning person in that crowd, the only way they'd end up on the news is if the lefties beat them to death.
The convention is taking place a mile or so away from where they lost their minds in 2016 and chased Trump supporters down the street when Trump dared to try and have a rally in Chicago.
