Title says Iran plans U.S. strike but the body of the article says "what could be a plan".

Now we know why phrases like military intelligence and U.S. Intel are oxymorons.

Sorry, but NO SALE! This wreaks of bull****! It is common knowledge that Iran has absolutely no long range missile capabilities. This isn't even real intelligence here, it is one man asking questions such as "why didn't they tell us" or "why did they do that" Maybe because they are a sovereign nation who reserves the right to test and research what they want to just as we do. These con artists hovering around Washington need to get it through their heads we are not going to support another war based on groundless theories and straight out lies. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. This is not happening a second time!!!

Did a little research on this William R Graham, and I think I may have found a link to his assessment. I think it lies in his pocketbook!

William R. Graham, a former science adviser to Ronald Reagan and an executive at a number of high-tech defense contractors, has been a key member of the missile defense lobby during the past two decades.

Yep, that sounds about right doesn't it!!!

I think the article says that Iran does not need ICBM's--just a short range missile launched off the platform of a boat near the coast of the USA. Once launched the platform could then be lowered into the hull and the boat would then look like any one of hundreds of ships coming in and out of USA's waters. In a worst case sceneario the boat could be sunk to conceal the evidence, as the crew jumps onto a companion ship.

Well if that is the case, then we are in danger from virtually every country on this planet that has enough money to buy a nuclear device right. Not to mention the fact that the United States has probably the most sophisticated satellite and radar system on the planet. If a ship did manage to get close enough to launch such an attack, I'd have to assume they were allowed to do it. I don't care if they can render the ship invisible weapons of this type have a signature easily picked up by our sophisticated equipment. And as I said, how can they limit this kind of a threat to Iran alone. They can't, Iran is just the flavor of the week.

Let's think of it this way: if you were Iran why would you want to give the US an excuse to do something it already wants to do anyway(which is war)?

Even if Iran managed to fire ten successful nukes (unlikely to the extreme), they would have positively nothing to gain. Not a thing. It would only show the world how fast a nation can end itself...

Sigh
Its common practice for countries to have all kinds of contingency plans for various scenario's.
Iran most likely does have a plan on paper of how to attack the USA with nukes. That does not mean that they intend to.
Its S.O.P

Hint. They don't have the range to hit us with anything. Not a spit ball, not a nuclear weapon.

Stand Down.

Lets not forget our rather open border to the south. To smuggle a nuke accross the border would present a minor challenge. In fact the KGB had such plans on paper.... Suitcase Nukes developed by Russia have turned up missing and Russia has no idea where they are. How scarey is that????
Bily I got you back always shipmate but think outside of the box. Missiles are but 1 form of delivery vehicle.
