This is great, but I think that it is safe to say that most public companies are extremely concerned with fairness in the workplace and jump through all kinds of hoops to keep the employees that they value. In an organization comprised entirely of men (let's say white men, since no one cares if they are mistreated), some being paid better than others, would you feel that legislation is necessary to even the playing field?

If a worker feels that his or her salary is unfair, why would the impetus be on anyone other than the individual to seek out better pay? If you can't find better pay anywhere else, I would say that you're not in such a bad spot. Further, why would anyone want to work for a company that they feel is discriminating against him or her (or his/her coworkers) for any reason? That should really be a red flag.
