It's been at least 4-5 years since I've subscribed to a paper and get most of my news on line or other sources. They seem to be losing subscribers and laying off a lot of employees.
They cant give them away up here! I havent had a paper in probably 18 years, when my folks come to visit my dad has to get a paper every day, so I get to see why I stopped taking them. There are three major papers in the Seattle area, they all suck, the funny thing is the people that write for them actually think their opinion still matters.
When I'm in college during the year I subscribe to the paper version of the New York Times. I know I can read all of it online but I really enjoy sitting down and reading an actual paper. This being said it is the internet that is killing newspapers. I once heard that many newspapers are getting more readers than they ever had before, but that those readers are only reading the website. The problem with this is that papers get much less revenue from internet ads than they do from paper ads.
Haven't had the paper since I was married to my ex, and hated it then because said ex NEVER recycled them. Seemed to think it was more fun to see how high of a stack of papers we could get going in the living room. :P I read all the news online.
I only seek out the paper if I have a new puppy. I'm all for moving towards more of a paperless society.

Do you subscribe to a paper ? Why not ?
I think press in it's own is becoming obsolete. Both sides press their own agenda without consideration for the truth. It may do well to push either side, but in the long run all it does is hurt us all.
Yes, I get the paper (one of Denver's 2 major ones) and read it every morning. I know I could get it online, but I prefer it in paper form. My major was journalism, so maybe that has something to do with it!
Getting the paper paper every day seems like a waste unless you have a very structured life where every day at 6:30 A.M. you have the paper promptly delivered to your door and you devote the time to read it. If your schedule varies a lot, it seems that you just end up with a pile of unread newspapers to throw out.
If I find myself with 20 minutes in a Big Boy over breakfast somewhere, I can just dial up any (pretty much) newspaper on-line that I may want to peruse at that time.

I get it on Saturday and Sundays only. Papers are dying. I remember when I lived in Chicago I used to read the Tribune in the morning and the Sun-Times in the evening on the way home everyday. I honestly wonder how long they will be around.
