Israel has one of the largest nuclear programs in the world. They can take care of themselves just fine. No need for us to get involved.
Unfortuantely, the Republican imposters, the liberal RINO neo-cons (who have been not unlike a fast spreading cancer in the Republican party) suffer from the same mental disorder as libs who wish to offer slave reparations to African-Americans. They, out of either Gentile guilt or to save face with other Jewish folks in the community, have caught the liberal virus of dumping hard earned taxpayer money in the form of civilian and military social welfare programs to a perfectly capable country.

I disagree. I think a lot of folks just like the idea of Israel in place with a kick-ass army and air force (and a few nukes) smack dab in the middle of Islamo-Naziland -- instead of us. Consider them a proxy which is altogether capable of keeping the hyenas away from the waterhole at night.

Israel is a leach that weakens America, sucking our Treasury dry and is just another entitlement program, nothing more. Contrary to your opinion, we do not need a proxy nor a presence in the Middle East. Playing world cop sounds fun when you possess the innocence of a child, but intelligent grownups realize that it spells doom for every country that's tried it, and we're no different. Plus, once again, I'm not a bleeding heart liberal who likes to throw money at people. Also, why is there civilian aid sent if we're just there to establish a military presence? You also realize that Israel basically runs one of the most socialist governments on the planet?
Again, you have not addressed why we need to throw even more money out the window considering Israel already holds a strong military advantage in the region. To save face and to appease the evangelicals and hard core Zionists so that liberal RINOs can get re-election?

Big difference actually. The reparations serve no purpose what so ever other than to try and buy away guilt of our 140+ year old sins.
Israel on the other hand it can be argued is providing a service for the money. I myself tend to disagree on its worth but they do in fact provide Intel, verify the effectiveness of the weapons we provide them and do in fact offer a quick reaction force should we need it. They also provide indepth training that equals experience. Something we ourselves cannot duplicate. I know I benefitted from it in the 1980's.
Although no fan of the Israeli gov I do have a great respect for the IDF's capability.
