Can somone please explain or share how the quality of their life in the U.S. has improved since "the surge is working" and the U.S. is now"winning the war" in Iraq? Not in terms of safety and security, because everyone has heard all of that. For example, are you paying less for gas, do you have more savings and investment money, residual income, educational savings for your children, etc. Since you are the ones who support the war, please tell the rest of America, how "winning" has made YOUR LIFE BETTER.

Wouldn't it be interesting to ask that of a soldier back from his or her 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th deployment.
How's that job they forgot to keep for you?

How's that business you started but had to let go because you weren't here?

How's those kids of yours doing since they haven't had you in their lives for two or three years?

How's that new wheel chair you'll spend the rest of your life in??

Are you better off with half your skull missing?

Grandkids kinda grew up while you were gone, didn't they? Without you.

How ya comin' with those medical bills?

With the stress of catching up?

With Post traumatic stress??

Can ya pay for those meds you'll be on the rest of your life?

Suicidal thoughts lately?

Not getting along with that stranger who used to be your spouse??

So many questions...........

Lets ask a Iraq citizen how they feel. They have the right to vote. They don't have a leader that expands violence against woman and children wrongly anymore. They don't have a leader that tortures and executes innocent people anymore. They don't have a leader that withdrawls food from families that did not let there children go to his regime, and put Iraqi's in unfair imprisionment.

Oh, my bad, lets go back to talking about how George Bush is satan and question how our proud men and woman must be feeling in wheelchairs.

When it comes right down to it, I don't care that much about the country of Iraq (over our interests anyway).
All the points you made above, well the Saudi and Sudanese governments do that, why don't we go and take care of them?
Winning has such as vague definition anyway, ask 100 people, you'll get 40 different responses.
No, winning the war,(money that could have gone towards a National Health Care program and gas prices that have almost tripled) has not made my life better.

Huh, yeah, that was my first thought too...we have people right here who can use help, but we refuse it to "just give them handouts" because that would be "socialism"...yet we "should" want to have our loved ones go halfway across the world to die to improve somebody else's quality of life?

I mean...huh?

It seems there is a generation now that thinks we do everything only for ourselves. Sometime we do the most for ourselves by doing for others. Good point you make.

4,000 of our soldiers have died

To depose a leader of a country that did not attack us.

And over 1 million Iraqi civilians have died since the start of the war.

I'm so glad you see it that way.

So therefore I'm sure you have no problem with the many programs in place to help out the unfortunate right here, and your tax dollars going there.

Thank you. I'm so glad to finally hear this from a Republican.

Yeah. Wrong country...oops!

But come on. Don't you feel GOOD about helping out a country by first tearing it down, then fixing it and saying "Look! I fixed your country"? I mean what's wrong with you..........you're supposed to like doing things for other people. (Just as long as those other people aren't in the U.S., aren't of the wrong color, and a host of other criteria.)
