History will show you that is goes up and down. What you are seeing now is a product of greed. The little guy will be the one who suffers, sadly. The lesson is, don't put all your eggs in one basket and NEVER live above your means.

For all the idiots out there who make $35K/year and purchased a $200K house...you deserve what you are going through right now. If you had taken even the basics of economics, you would have known that it wouldn't work from the start. As far as credit cards...don't get me started!!!

America will bounce back. We always do.

Personally, I'm not worried about the economy itself. My expenses are very low and everything I see is paid for. However, I do worry about what the poor choices and desperate acts of others will bring to ALL of our doorsteps.

I guess I am blessed with a good job, health insurance for me and my family, food on the table, and a house I can AFFORD. I think if people go back to the basics, everything will be fine. The problem is that a lack of common sense has swept the nation.

This country is filled with $1,000 millionaires, meaning they live on plastic and borrowed time. People have become too worried about "status" instead of worrying about the basics. That's why you see 10,000 sheep lined-up outside the store when the new iPhone comes out, when a regular cell would do just fine.

Sorry...I am trailing off.

What we are seeing now is a product of the government not allowing the free market to work. Its a product of attempting to manipulte the system for political benefit, and over time, something has to give..

With the $700 billion bailout bill, the economy has to turn around unless the person who will take office in the White House and Congress are complete screw ups because either they block reforms or they don't apply the solutions correctly.

I agree with the up down part KD. I don't believe the second part so much anymore than I believe someone deserves to be swindled by a slick hustler. people trust banks and believe in the system. They got set up and knocked down by people who knew what they were doing.

What do I worry about? I worry that as a matter of principle, it is wrong that we as a society should stand witness to such obvious hucksterism and do nothing about it. I hate to witness injustice, but what can ya do? Hopefully they won't get away with what they got away with in 1929.
