PITTSBURGH (AP) — U.S. Rep. John Murtha says his home base of western Pennsylvania is racist and that could reduce Barack Obama's victory margin in the state by 4 percentage points.
This guy is a pig! First, he gets in to hot water for slandering Marines not too long ago. Now he dubs an entire region, much of which he represents, as being racist. So, because they don't want to vote for Senator Obama they are automatically dubbed racist? Un-friggin-believable! The comments made by politicians just get stranger and stranger by the hour.
Murtha should be in jail for being a traitor. He mouth has no value to anyone.
And if western PA is racist then the dump town of Philly is what?
Philly is a dump and an embarrassment to our country. Full of racist white hating people and Murtha kinda forgot to tell us that.
I don't know much about Philly, and if someone else said all the above, I might have thought it might be true, but since you did, then I know its a lie. The truth must be Murtha is not a traitor, should not be in jail and is a value to everyone.
And Philly must be a great place. Full of nice ppl.

Why is it unbelievable? He's a 17-term Democrat from Johnstown. SEVENTEEN TERMS. I think that says he knows his folks and they know him.
"There's no question Western Pennsylvania is a racist area," said Mr. Murtha, whose district stretches from Johnstown to Washington County. "The older population is more hesitant."
You know, so what? At least they dont pretend NOT to be.

Murtha is from Johnstown, in the western part of the state.

Ha! I don't agree at all with what the other poster said in what you replied to, but have you ever been to Philly?
Seriously, Western PA does have more than its share of racists. I was raised there and I/my family always had close friends of every race, ethnicity, and religion. Most of my friends in school were black. I never noticed how racist the area was until I moved to the South when I was an adult and then went back for visits. Yikes, when people (non-family) found out we were from Texas, the ignorant comments we heard were amazing -- along the lines of "the South knows how to keep the N's in line." My little son even asked adults why they were such bigots!
My folks didn't raise us that way and I left PA right after college, so it was startling and scary to hear that crap.
