A friend of mine posted this on a different site, I found it comical and thought I'd share. Please, no bad attitudes

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.
Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference--just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more.
I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.
I voted for McCain, but in fairness to Obama and his supporters I want to point out one nuanced difference between much of what he proposes and your humourous example above.
Your example basically refers to welfare, due to the homeless guy not being employed. Much of what Obama has proposed is giving a little bit extra to those who are actually employed, but making below a certain dollar threshold.
It is a bit of a difference, and makes the discussion somewhat more accurate if you keep this in mind. I'm not stating I support this concept, after all I have some significant reservations about Obama myself and voted for McCain. But I want to be fair and objective in discussing what Obama has actually proposed.
This is at least the fourth time I've seen it just on these forums. It's funny, yes, but it's also getting old.
Sorry, wasn't aware it was posted before

This wasn't meant for accuracy, but for the overall concept of Obama's plan.
He is going to be taking money from those making (250k, 200k, I don't know but Biden even said 150k...) a certain amount of money and giving to those who are below that...
I find it funnier that he is going to take money from my step dad and give it to me Though I think that is a terrible thing, I still had a little giggle as I thought about it haha.

Understood, but while not supporting the concept either way, my indignation is much greater when the folks receiving the financial assistance aren't employed. Actually, when you take a look at the low income tax credit on the IRS federal tax forms, we actually have a program in place today for some income redistribution. Obama is proposing to expand it.
