Hey this is "Politics & other controversies", right? Well here's your controversy of the day!.

How would you like to spend eternity, if you could exist forever?

Mind you the question is not "how does your religion define eternity" nor
"what are your beliefs about how you'll pass eternity".

The question is how would you, yourself like to spend it?

Heck I'm the one asking and I just realized I never really gave it any thought!

I really, really like that one.

And if you could serve God in any way you wanted, how would you like to spend eternity while serving God?

Well...as tempting as 72 virgins is....

I just think Heaven is going to make anything we can comprehend on earth look silly.

The book of Revelation says to "serve" God means to act as a "priest" of sorts...we are going to "serve" him by worshiping him.

You asked how I'd like to serve him? I guess it's the same way that the Bible declares we will.

Singing Agnus Dei in church 2 Sundays ago makes me think of what it's going to be like.

"Holy Holy Holy are you Lord God Almighty!" Rev 4:8.

OK I got my answer, inspired by kdbrich; I'd like to spend eternity serving God (hope he exists ..minor detail!) as an angel or muse or spirit or pixie or whatever you call those fairy-like creatures that supposedly intervene on God's behalf. I'd like that; to do God's menial chores like you know, moving the clouds around, working the tides, talking to the trees, whatever the Boss wants. He wants a storm over Indonesia?. He's got it!. If it makes the Big Guy happy it can't be too bad right?

As long as I'm with Jesus, all will be well!
This thread reminds me of the song "I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe.

I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk by your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When your face is before me
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

Surrounded by your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you Jesus,
Or in awe of you be still?
Will I stand in your presence,
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing Halelluja,
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine

Eventually I will turn into a smile a few light years across as I gaze both forward and backward into a thing called time to see myself in millions of different locations, wearing a million different faces, and experiencing a million different lives in and out of various dimensions. And as I assimilate all this information, my large smile will speak the words... "I AM". OOHHHMMMMMMMMMM.

How would you like to spend eternity, if you could exist forever?

somehow I interpreted this more in the mortal sense since if I'm buried I'm sure numerous bugs would eat my carcass & if I'm cremated and my ashes are thrown into the sea I will become fish food and eventually wind up in someone's future Red Lobster meal.

Default rest of time

I would not want to suffer in the lake of fire forever. but to sit at a throne for all time singing "how great thou are" maybe worm food aint so bad. my wish would be to travel as a spirit all of the universe seeing all that has been kept from us to know. the sights and sounds unknown would be a final experience.

I would love to live forever, especially if my loved ones would be around forever.

I'd spend it moving from city to city - country to country, experience life, learn as much as I can, see as much as I can, and by the time I'm done, everything will be different in the place I first started out at and do it all over again. It'd be amazing to see how the world changes and the new discoveries. However, even the little things would make it worth while...the next new movie, the next new video game etc.
