I'm black myself, and I agree that its a bit premature to give Barack Obama(and any president) a holiday this early. I would like to see his work after he get sworn in office and what he will do for this country before any kind of holiday for him.

A holiday merely for a President's election? Then we should be entirely fair and have a day for every President who's ever served. Another 44 days off during the year...I'll vote for that, although I imagine it's kind of unlikely.

What has he actually done that warrants a holiday?

He's a senator with no experience.

I can't wait until all the suckers who buy the 'Barack Obama Coin' find out it is just a sticker on a fifty cent piece.

That's a bargain compared to the Bush coin, which cost tax payers a few trillion.

I agree. It's too premature to designate a paid holiday in honor of Obama. He needs to prove himself first.

Too early? Officials in Hawaii have confirmed that state records conclusively show that Barack Obama is NOT George W Bush. There's reason to celebrate right there...

Exactly. The same thing he's done that warrants being president.
