Oh, no! You can't make this stuff up!

One of the comments on the article says: "If it is a more serious offense like a class 2 is elsewhere in the Valley, there is 2/3 chance it is marijuana or hashish. But if it is in Wasilla, there's maybe an 85-90% chance it is meth. However, if it is a class 2 in Palin's inner circle on the same day Bristol is due, there is a 100% chance it will be Jerry Springer calling."

They are never getting married. If they were it would have been before election night to make the lie a little more realistic. No way Palin allows her grandbaby's daddy or his misfit family anywhere near them.

I agree- and I also don't believe this reflects on Bristol. Teenagers don't look at the big picture when choosing boyfriends/girlfriends- they just look at the person.

"We grow good people in our small towns, with honesty, sincerity and dignity."
Poor Bristol.
It is as if they are all living in some sort of Osbornesque reality TV show.

Back in the summer there was feverish talk among the McCain advisors of a late October wedding.

McCain camp prays for Palin wedding - Times Online

I distinctly remember talk of the citizenry calling in or electronically voting on outfits, decorations, etc. - "let The People be included"

Why would anyone ever want to enter politics? What joy is there in getting your name drug through the mud not only for things your family may do but also for things done by anyone in your far reaching circle. A person has to have a HUGE ego to want to be a politician.

The mud slinging is a big reason why so many smart, good people won't enter the arena.

Yup.
This has been a particularly NASTY election cycle. If this had been Obama then the Obamabashers would have been loudly proclaiming "Obama hangs with drug dealers" - in fact, Palin herself would likely be saying that. It's pretty ironic that Palin was one of the folks leading those kinds of attacks on Obama and now finds herself under attack for her associations. I'd like to say I feel sorry for her but considering the fact that just a few weeks back she was launching those kinds of attacks herself, I just can't do it.

I will say however (as I have before) that in truth ANY person running for office is open to these kinds of "guilt by association" attacks. ALL politicians have SOMEONE that they know who has or is doing things wrong. That doesn't mean the POLITICIAN did anything wrong.

Ken
