We had a pResident who was a liar, who pretended to be a cowboy, who was actually a blue-blood from CT, whose Grandfather funded the Nazi war machine. Do your research.

I was speaking personally for myself. I am not a person who speaks for other people. You don't have a right to tell me what to say and that I have to speak for everybody. I was thanking Bush for what he has done for me and my family. We are not better off financially than we were a year ago but we are much better off than we were 8 year ago. I remember the horrible man who was aiming missles at us. I guess some of you may have forgotten that. I feel much safer than I was at that time.

If you will look back at some of my posts, you will see that I mentioned that the stock market seemed to go down every time it looked like Obama might have a chance to win. I was attacked for saying that too, but it was and is still true. Let's blame the right people for what is going on with our finances.

You have a right to say what you want to say and I have a right to say what I want to say and I don't really care what you think about that.

You hit that nail right on the head. Bet they won't like hearing that truth either. Or maybe it should be changed to a president who was voted in by the classless.

I did not vote for Obama, not because I do not admire him, but am fearful of the hard left turn this country is about to take. His economic plan is already frighteningly socialistic. Yes, we have an economic mess right now, but Obama's remedy is going to take years to correct. The cure is magnificently worse than the illness.

However, I do admire him as a person. I do not get the vile hatred of Americans toward Bush. Disagree with his policies, but the contempt is despicable.

I watched the proceedings today with mixed emotions. I especially felt for the many black Americans and the hope of seeing someone with a darker complexion take the highest office, how this will bring hope to many minorities and their aspirations for their futures.

The one thing that disgusted me was the attitude by so many there of direspect toward President Bush. It made all of them look juvenile. I thought it spoiled the whole day.

I like Obama just fine, I just don't like his policies. One thing I am becoming more sure of, and this thread is cementing that thought: I like Obama better than I like Obama supporters.

"The best way to win over our enemies is to outlive them" , I like that. Evidently you are the queen of the post 4,595/5229, now 5230. How in the world did you do that? Kudos country girl, carry the torch of righteousness and righteous indignation. They don't know it yet but there is still waaay more of us than them.

They're stock portfolio's and 401k's aren't what they used to be.
I guess they were not aware that there is risk in investing in the stock market? That the government does not guarantee your assets - people must have been aware of that, right?

Many homes are losing value,
Well, after the unreasonable explosion in home values in certain parts of the country - they had to come down some time, right?

unemployment is way too high,
Until this year, the unemployment rate under Bush was comparable to that under Clinton.

and it's obviously difficult to get loans.
Yesssss. This is what happens when banks are forced to loan money to unqualifed applicants, with no down payment, bad credit history and sometimes even with no income.

Agreed, they should've just shut up and ignored Bush today. But respect is earned. I gave Bush a chance, and other than giving relief to AIDS in Africa, he didn't do a single thing to earn my respect. The same can be said about many Republicans and Democrats.
