Bush & Cie. had no more of an end game plan here than they did with Iraq. Bush couldn't pardon Rove before leaving office because he had not been accused of anything, much less convicted, and he couldn't even address any possible misdeeds without admitting guilt.

Rove, in the meantime, learned well from Atwater, but Atwater was all attack and no defense, and Rove has nowhere to run without George W.(Mr. Cheney said I could sit here) Bush in the Oval Office to run interference. Rove is the perfect place to start. Since he authored and executed most of the shady deals, he knows where all the bodies are buried.

I am certain Mr. Conyers will pump Rove dry on the lawyers and take lots of notes for future sessions.

Nail him on a small charge and start investigating big items that carry multiple decades in Time Out and Rove will come around and sing lots of pretty little tunes just like a bluebird, you betcha.

This could be fun to watch.

I hope the big picture comes out in this - the machinations of creating the permanent R maj., how it collapsed... how they scuttled and twisted to stay as legal as they could,...oh yeah.

Life on the sunny side of the street....ah, wonderful.

cuebald, great post.
We can only hope it works and that the criminals are brought to justice.
