That is a good idea. There is no better way to assimilate into US than serving with Americans in US military. And of course it helps the military meet their quotas.

I think this is also a great way to fast track talented people who wish to become citizens - serve in the military and receive citizenship sooner.

I served with Brazilians, Brits, Peruvians, Italians, and the biggest surprise was a guy from Georgia.

We have never required US servicemembers to be citizens.

Immigrants for Afghanistan? Does Afghanistan NEED immigrants? THey don't even LIKE most foreigners. and have HUGE problems with poverty and illiteracy. Why would they want immigrants? And even if they DID, why would they want US to recruit them? Let them recruit their OWN immigrants. We can't even keep our OWN immigrants happy...
