Heh, wish they could make this a sticky since the Obamaphiles are now busily denying they thought he was extra-special and that they had great expectations of him.
John Lennon actually said the Beatles were. Different generation I guess. People were in an uproar over his statement. Now, they are actually saying themselves that somebody else is their hero over Jesus.
I'm still waiting for someone to prove this poll actually ever occurred. Ever.

I know that in limited minds the continuum goes from special, to extra-special to god like, but most of us "Obamaphiles" or Obamanistas - as I prefer - believe that there are far more levels of gradation. The same goes for expectations. We tend to look at what can be accomplished over the course of a full term in office not by the day to day (and franking in the case of too many wingnuts minute by minute) accomplishments or failures. And in that regard we still maintain a high level of expectations.
The ancient Egyptians worshipped the Pharoah as a God, its nice to see we've come so far since then.
