Surely our Democrat Congress wouldn't do a thing like that. Yes, I think they may well try now that they can pass things like the stimulus Act.

It's ALWAYS some "secret government conspiracy," what a hoot. Amazing thing is that no one in the government can keep a secret from the NYTimes or WashPost, but somehow THESE secrets are well kept, and only the wingnuts "know" about them and whisper about them at their own "secret" meetings and such. Quick, someone gimme the "secret" handshake so I can join the club.
No they are not. They have places already to "train for war".
Home searches in Iowa is not preparing to go to Iraq.
That is National Guard training, not DoD Army.

ShadowWarrior, I read that the majority that took that survey said they would not shoot their fellow Americans. Now I read that Obama promises citizenship to aliens that join the military.

IMO I think you are correct in that they would have no qualm shooting Americans as they were promised US citizenship.

There are bits and pieces of data all over and by themselves raise an eyebrow but not anything to get worried about. But when you put them all together, it becomes downright scary.

Patriot Act
Executive Orders
modification of existing laws of the US
Military training in the US
Military Installations converted to emergency centers

Apparently, most here are clueless about something like NorthCom that has existed for over six years now.

The exercise has been canceled.
Sounds like a good choice based on the concerns that the public brought up.
I blame much of the problem on lazy and stupid staff work. Failure to develop a decent scenerio and also a very poor bad guy ID are two huge factors.
This could have been done much better-- as sort of a Robin Sage in the cornfields , but with a conventiontial NG unit.

Good, and thanks for the update. The National Guard doesn't have the money to come out here to Fort Carson where the Army has built mock towns on which to practice their house to house search skills. Hard to do much training for Iraq and Afghanistan when all you have is one weekend a month and no training funds. This is much ado about nothing, silly trolls trying to generate fear in the minds of the gullible rubes, who take this nonsense and send it around the country in the form of viral emails, or get viral emails and post that nonsense here.

Edit: The military has been practicing urban warfare for many years. I worked 30 years for the Army, back in DC, saw the War Plans, read the view of future enemies, future weapons, etc. We've been preparing for urban / asymmetrical / insurgent / unconventional warfare for many years, nothing new.

[quote=ShadowWarrior;7564240]I have been preaching this message for over 15 years, and I mostly see nothing but glazed over eyes. The military has been practicing urban warfare for some years. Don't forget how the military participated at Waco. Now Obama wants to let aliens into the military. These people will have no compunction against shooting American dissenters. For those who doubt the concentration camps, go to You Tube. You can see them for yourselves.

Let's start with Waco.

That's a very serious allegation: Participation in the worst colateral damage situation in recent US law enforcement history.
Who? What branch ? What unit ? How many?
