If you want to see where this country is headed, and get an idea of how Socialists operate, just watch Hugo Chavez in action.

Starts with the Banks, then natural resources, then the food supply.

After these tax and spend policies bury the US economy, coupled with Enviro Nazi policies to keep us from our resources. You will see a take over of the food supply.

Game, set, match....

OBama's hero.

LOL Chavez/Obama! That would be a good ticket to a lot of people here. This way either could lead the policy debate because they think exactly alike.

"This government is here to protect the people, not the bourgeoisie or the rich." It is very scary just how much a typical Democrat voter sounds like Hugo. I am seriously fearful for the future of this country after electing two socialist Presidents in a row. By the way Chavez, you are wrong. The government is here to protect the inalienable rights of all the citizens of that country including the poor, rich, and bourgeoisie.

If this is indeed true, Obama will more than likely be assassinated before it gets to that level just as Kennedy was... people don't hate him only because he's black. Obama is heading up against a stereotypically very violent type of American... definitely a lot different than the type Bush was up against.

FYI, 70% of Venezuela's GDP comes from oil.

I can't wait to get my free Obama/Chavez house and get a dental and medical checkup paid with our oil.

Seems like Sarah Palin would be closer to Chavez than Obama would, if we're comparing US political figures to "Hugo Boss".

Particularly because AK has state-owned oil fields and a massive petro-welfare state and also has an autocratic leader of questionable mental stability.

Also, abortion's illegal in Venezuela.

Seems like the GOP would love Chavez if he declared himself to be a "born again conservative Christian" even if he maintained the same economic policies.

But, speaking of the U.S., the government IS here to protect the people, not the bourgeoisie or the rich. Which means ALL the people, not ONLY the bourgeoisie or the rich. How is that "socialism"?
