I don't have big hopes for this Health Care Summit Obama has planned but I would just like to get your input as to what kind of health care you'd like to see.

We need some form of general catastrophic coverage. Getting hit by a car - or being diagnosed with cancer - should not lead to something like bankruptcy. That's a sign of a flawed system.

I would like to see the FDA and DEA shut down to 1% of their current staffing, and told to lay-off herbs and alternative treatments entirely.

Then drug company crack downs to lower the prices of drugs to their actual production costs plus only 1,000% profit.

Then law suits capped to no more than the doctor's annual income.

Then insurance companies forced to cap policy prices to ensure no greater than 10% profit margin.

None of the listed poll selections will break the stranglehold the AMA, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, HMOs, trial lawyers, etc., have on our money. They like it the way it is, taking all the money out of our pocket and putting it into theirs.

We should carefully study Norway's excellent national program and duplicate it as closely as possible.

Is this the "excellent national program" you are talking about?

"Waiting Times. There are significant waiting times for many procedures. Many Norwegians often go abroad for medical treatments. The average weight for a hip replacement is more than 4 months. “Approximately 23 percent of all patients referred for hospital admission have to wait longer than three months for admission.” Also, care can be denied if it is not deemed to be cost-effective."

And then there is the cost, read it in the link.
