Unless you are poor (less than $56K), in which case the Illinois gov. is going to give you a break. He refers to this as "fair".

Yet those on welfare with their many programs combined already have a higher standard of living than families living on $56,000 a year.

Why not just go on welfare. You'll be given housing subsidies that allow you to buy bigger and better houses than those fools who work. You will be given $150 a month per household member for food stamps, WIC coupons for pregnant women and children under 6. You get free babysitting services at the Head Starts so you can lay around or go out shopping for the day. Your utilities will be taken care of, you will not have to scrimp and save like the working fools.

Classic politician double talk:
Quote:
Quinn said Friday that he plans to hike taxes for families that make more than $56,000 a year.

But Quinn contends his income tax proposal would amount to a tax cut for millions of Illinoisans by increasing the personal exemption to let them shield more income from being taxed.
I dunno, call me crazy, but maybe cut spending first and see how that goes?
Yet another traitorous self-serving politician that needs to be taken behind the woodshed.

"He did not say exactly how much taxes would go up, but the Chicago Tribune reported Friday that he was looking for a hike of 50 percent, from a rate of from 3 percent to 4.5 percent."

(from 3 to 4.5 = 50%)

Sure, just another paper cut, till we all bleed to death.
Speaking of cuts, did you research what he said about those?

And you left this out:
Quote:
The corporate rate of 4.8 percent would jump to 7.2 percent.
Good for retaining business huh?

Socialism is a dangerous disease once it starts it's hard to stop because the masses demand it without knowing what it really is.

Tax cuts don't retain business. If they did, 80% of our manufacturing would be here rather than in other countries.
