Yep, the rhetoric coming from the White House is mind-numbing in its stupidity. Now, they're talking about enacting a specific tax against the AIG bonus recipients. Uh, hello, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to levy a tax ONLY against particular people in one company.

Didn't anyone tell them that if they simply let AIG go bankrupt that this would CANCEL any prior contractural agreements and get rid of the incompetent leadership so there wouldn't be any bonuses? THAT is what needed to be done.

A lot of the people receiving the bonuses aren't even U.S citizens. So we have no tax authority over them. The administration is so stupid, read over the damn contracts before you buy 80% of a company! The bad thing is they will use this as a way to get the general public mad at the rich and acquire support to raise taxes on the rich.

I totally agree! A contract is a contract. As much as I would like to have that money back I hope the courts will not allow it. Also, to go after certain people and tax income differently based on a HUGE mistake the Obama administration made is not only illegal, but tactics that a third-world country might use. This Obama crowd is absolutely unbelievably stupid in every regard.

I've said from the outset that the free market should take care of Wall Street, banks, auto-makers, insurance companies, homeowners who cannot pay their mortgage, etc., etc. Now taxpayers own all sorts of public companies and our stupid government has no clue what in hell they're doing. It's crazy! It's stupid! Our grandchildren's grandchildren will be paying for this crap. The hell with Obama and his idiotic administration. The hell with the Fed and Treasury. The hell with Congress, especially with the Moderator cut: READ THE STICKY/RULES.
