I've been complaining for years, longer than many posters on this board have been alive, that Congress is guilty for all things gone wrong financially in the U.S.

Now, the King of Pork, Rep. John Murtha, D-PA, has confirmed my complaint. From The Tribune Democrat, Johnstown, PA

Quote:
U.S. Rep. John Murtha, D-Johnstown, responded by waving the Constitution at the camera, saying: “What it says is the Congress of the United States appropriates the money. Got that?
Murtha spokesidiot tries to talk his way out of a hole he keeps digging.

Quote:
“The Constitution specifically gives Congress the power to appropriate federal funds,” Mazonkey said. “Earmarks don’t increase the federal budget; they direct funds within the budget for certain community projects or programs.

“If elected members of Congress didn’t direct these funds, Washington bureaucrats would be left to decide what’s best for our communities. We think our elected representatives have a better understanding of what we need.”
Hopefully Pennsylvanians will bury Murtha in that hole next election.

Earmarks are a way to track the money that was printed and or created for use among the states. The federal governement has this much to spend so they spend it in earmarks. The problem is what the earmarks are spend on and are they really constitutional. Like fixing roads in your state would probably be constitutional, studing moose **** probably is not. SO maybe we should look at how much the government has to spend and limit their spending by limiting the taxes they steal from us every week. Also look at what the representatives earmark is it constitutional government or wasteful spending.
