Wow.. thank you for proving my point that right wingnuts are cruel and heartless, incompassionate and incapable of thinking and seeing beyond the nose on their face!
However.. classifying an entire population.. or GROUP of people as lazy because they are not making 6 figures is INSANE..and quite utterly RIDICULOUS!
Same as it is to say that everyone who has wealth attained that wealth by working hard
Again.. how hard someone works DOES NOT Equal how much money they have or they make
.
Um, never said there was an 'entire population' of lazy people. But there are lots of lazy people. And there are wide varying degrees of laziness.
And I never said all rich people worked hard to get it.
But I think you are wrong. I think that most people are compensated commensurate to their job, their level of training, and their performance. I am sorry that it upsets you to know that the biggest reason people who make more than you do so is because they worked harder and smarter. Sorry.
So by definition, Socialism is gov't control of industry and capital.
And in the last 6 months they have "invested" in multiple companies and taken over GM. How is this not Socialism????
The govt has not taken over GM. Indeed, Obama has stated that the govt. HAS NO INTEREST IN RUNNING GM.
A govt. loan does not equate to "govt. control of industry and capital."

If Obama has no interest in running GM it is quite odd he 'asked' for the CEO to resign....can't have it both ways,it is either none of the fedgov's business what GM does or it is trying to run GM.
the gov't just seized control of the biggest auto maker in the U.S. How much more proof do you need?
This is the precise hyperbole to which the OP is referring. It's just campaign rhetoric that people start parroting. Shoring up struggling companies until they can get on their feet again is a far cry from "seizing control". You make it sound like Obama is Chavez taking permanent control of the industries.
In fact, it was massive government spending that stabilized things during the Great Depression and even more massive government spending for the war that pulled us out and ushered in the most prosperous years of our history that allowed the free markets to flourish and gave rise to this whole notion that markets can do it on their own. The percentage of government involvement in the GDP in the 1930s and 1940s was around 35% much of the time. Today it's 6%.
So stop crying, Glenn Beck. We've been here before. Your country's still there.
Not without their problems, but some of the highest quality of life (not quantity of life) exists in "socialist" countries - Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada. But if you don't want government involved, then get everybody to stop acting out of narrow self interest and greed. So long as the deregulated free market creates the problem, daddy has to come in and fix it.

I don't see it as black-and-white as you do. Asking the CEO to resign is not the same as running the company; certainly not the same as running the day-to-day operations, which is what I think Obama was referring to.
Grey Davis was "asked" to resign as governor of California in 2003. That does not mean California voters are running the governor's office.
