I'm straight and monogamous, and it doesn't bother me one bit if three or more consenting adults decide they all love each other and want to get married. It may not be my cup of tea, but if it's right for them, who cares? It's not affecting YOUR marriage or lifestyle in any way.
Oh yeah raping/incest young girls is great! Casting young boys out of the compounds because they pose a threat for the attentions of the young girls so the old men can have them.

I think you need to seperate the practice of polygamy, and the practices of certain "compounds" and "sects" that also practice polygamy.
Polygamy, is nothing more then the marriage of multiple consenting adults. It is not the various crimes or other things you mention above.

I can't read your first article because the link doesn't work. Irregardless, that's Canada and polygamy is illegal according to the Criminal Code of Canada, Section 293 (what that entails, I don't know) but, as far as the U.S. goes, it's illegal in all 50 states....period.
I think you need to seperate the practice of polygamy, and the practices of certain "compounds" and "sects" that also practice polygamy.

You can try to spin and whitewash it all you want to but the fact of the matter is polygamy is polygamy.
You cannot say to one group your ok because there are no children involved and to the groups that have kids say nope you cannot practice it because of the kids.
More often than not children and women are victims of polygamy.
