Sag, why do you relentlessly defend this man? Most every "Barney Frank" thread gets a response from you, as if he's your hero. You're quick to blame Bush and his "cronies", but somehow Barney Frank is innocent. Yes, your partisanship is clouding your judgement.

I just read your long-winded response above, and while most of it has some merit, its clear that you hate to see the man called out. Why is this?

Shifting blame is central to the liberal mouthpiece, and you do that quite well.

Thank you! I have been saying this for months now. No matter how the left tries to pin this on the Bush Administration, they are just plain wrong. The facts remain that Franks and Dodd denied that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had risks that could impact the economy and that all was well. Greenspan warned them 4 years ago as did advisors to the President. Government intervention in all of this led to this fall too. CRA and the threat of legal actions against banks by Janet Reno for not keeping up with the stats of who they should lend to. Raines made $90 million while he was in the position of head of Fannie Mae and he was of course defended by Maxine Waters who stated that going after Raines was a "lynching" (once again, using the race card).

Bottom line, this is and was a Democratic error and the Barney Franks was leading the charge. This is nothing more than an effort by the left to buy votes.

Maybe they play for the same team.

I'm wondering the same thing. There's no way a sentient being can absolve Frank and some of his liberal cohorts for their part of the blame for the mess we're now in. The evidence is clear and unassailable no matter how one would desire to obfuscate because of partisan beliefs. There's a lot of blame to go around and Barney Frank should be a man and accept his share.

I relentlessly defend him against bogus and trumped up charges. The right-wing disinformation media has decided that Rep. Frank is deserving of Ward Churchill-type treatment, mostly for his having stood up for years against the garbage that neocons have tried to pass off on the Congress and on the general public. Come up with something that has some actual merit.

There is nothing partisan about following any issue a little more broadly or deeply than most people do. To paraphrase, you can't just read NewsMax and expect to get anything understood.

Let's play "Find the Flaws". Your turn. Can you counter the flow of the crisis scenario that was laid out? Are there rationales and explanations that somehow don't hang together? If not, then maybe this is more there than what (from your own partisan stance?) you are willing to give it credit for.

I think they used BF for a waterboarding experiment and he developed a wet brain. (Sorry, that was my dream last night). But..not a bad idea now that I think of it..

Bogus and trumped up? The man said there would be no collapse and that he would continue to push for home ownership. He said Fannie and Freddie were doing well and were good investments. He was "involved" with a key player at Freddie. He and others blocked reform. Can you seriously say that if McCain had done what Frank did you would come to his defense?

Sentience alone might allow one to take spliced-up YouTube videos at face value. Actual thought would demand more than that. Many fail to live up to that demand.
