ATLANTA, May 3 (UPI) -- The left-leaning blog Daily Kos says its poll of Georgia found one-third of Republicans in the state favor seceding from the United States.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Sunday that the poll, part of the blog's Research 2000 project, found just 18 percent of all Georgians say they are ready to sever ties with the country.

This is getting to be funny.

Remember in 2004 when many liberals said they were moving to Canada? They were verbally crucified by conservatives and called cowards, traitors, chickens, communists, socialists, losers, etc. Now that the voters have chosen a different side, many of these same people want to do the same thing - although it's worse, really. They could at least have the decency to just leave this country rather than suggesting we tear it apart to please them.

Republicans move to Canada. If they are anything like that Omaha guy, they won't be happy lol.. Even the majority of our conservative politicians support gay marriage. Plus their divisive and heavy opinions of things will be met with shrewd indifference - they would get alot of silent treatment. They would also have to get used to extreme racial diversity and harmony.

I guess that's the thing. They have nowhere to go. There are no other countries that are more conservative than the U.S. with the standard of living that we have. That's why their only option now is to try to get their states to secede.

Good luck with that!

Default Huh?

How does 18% of Georgia's population equal 1/3? More nonsense.

I feel bad for them, but slowly they are becoming a minority. You know how things are going with the younger generation in the U.S. ppl under 30 have views more in line with youth across the world so it is only a matter of time

Aside from that, i really love the U.S. I think its a beautiful country with alot of friendly ppl. I visit it often and have been to many places and have met great people and so many friends. Aside from my own country, there isn't another place I love more. Many of us up here feel that way.

It is interesting to see the changes. I heard a commentator on TV the other day say that people under 30 in the U.S. think of themselves as "world citizens", and a higher percentage of them can imagine themselves working in another country than ever before. That says a lot about where we're headed, and why younger people think it's important to be more progressive and have better relationships with our allies.

I think the bad old days of U.S. isolationism are coming to an end, and I'm happy to see that.

Great idea! IMHO, the longer the GOP either ignores or condones right wingers
who are up for a little sedition, the less relevant they become. Those pushing
such agendas might be surprised that the majority of Americans might push
back.

Lol, Daily Kos? Math issues, as already pointed out. 18%=1/3? They are pulling stuff out of their ass as usual. I would give them about as much credibility as WND.
