My oh my, Cheney’s role in torture only becomes deeper… Two Senior Intelligent Officials tell that Waterboarding an Iraqi prisoner was directed from VP Cheney’s Office.
I think it’s funny how the GOP is attacking Pelosi when they can’t go after Obama because of his Political Capital, he is that popular. Now Pelosi is pushing the the CIA notes to be released to the public and also pushing for the Truth Commission. So who is hiding what, Bush/Cheney or Pelosi?

Yeah, and I heard recently that the irony is the usually secretive Cheney is going around openly blabbing about it all (and his role) only because he knows Obama is reluctant to ask for an investigation and a special prosecutor. Of course that might all change and Cheney's words could come back to haunt him.

It's really not Obama's Choice right? I mean the ball is in Holders court right? Also, Conyers and Leahy are pushing for commissions e.g. Truth Commission. Obama is in a tough position because of his agenda he wanted to push through congress, health care, energy, education and inheriting a enormous challenge with the economy. I feel that Obama could still move forward pushing his agenda through while the investigation can go forward at the same time via the Attorney General putting forth a Special Prosector such as Fitzgerald out of Chicago.

Agreed, its a tough call, given the current state of the country and all the other urgent issues on this administration's plate at the moment. But sooner or later, in order to successfully "move on", it seems like the country needs to somehow "process" and symbolically purge itself of that dark chapter. And maybe an official investigation which also examines everybody's role & attitudes (including our own) is what's needed.
There's probably enough dirt to put a busload of gov't people away. They'll blab back and forth but we all know it's not going to amount to anything. Both Dems and Repubs are deep into this..both parties have their hands dirty.
Nothing but finger pointing and name calling going on.
Cheney is an idiot. If he just disappeared and kept his mouth shut, the issue might have dissipated. But Cheney keeps blabbing about it. I have seen more of Cheney on TV in the past two weeks than the past 8 years! Now, the issue of torture is pressed to a full investigation.
I think we could get the truth out of Cheney if we offered him some enhanced interrogation!
