I don't like this either. If I found something like this on my car it would take a swim in the lake nearby. I would consider it abandoned property.

time to start sweeping your cars people. it only takes 5 minutes of your time, a small price to pay to remain free from the overzealous cops and the courts.

This is wrong. I don't understand the court's ruling. Cars are indeed personal property. This would be the equivalent of police installing a camera on the outside of your home, looking in.

just make sure your car is locked and sweep your car everyday. it takes 5 minutes and once you get used to doing it, it takes even less time.

If you happen to find one of the gps devices attach it to the first over-the-road truck you can.

We should work to change the laws, but it seems a bit extreme to take measures like this.

Let me ask a question.

We've all watched cop shows where they set up surveillance of suspects from buildings, other homes and cars, we also know that police will "tail" a suspect whenever they leave their home whether by car or public transportation ("Follow that car" comes to mind) so what is so offensive about using a gps tracking device instead of police car?

Like traffic cameras the objection simply seems to be the employment of technology to simply perform tasks that police already do and have done for many years.

Or, am I missing something?

I welcome anyone to try to GPS my car. it would be a waste of money, because I would remove the device and smash it.

Let me give you the conservative Republican Neo-Con standard to this. I have heard it 1000 time over the last 8 year.

(I don't do anything wrong so if the Government wants to check up on me that's just fine. I would expect them to have the same take now. )
