That is technically true, though the reason for that is the Republican controlled Congress knew they could send him anything and everything and he would be willing to sign it with no questions asked.

Yeah, I saw this too. Jeb Bush seems to think history is malleable and he can just rewrite it.

there is one hitch though in that position, and that is that while deficits did climb in 2001-2003, they stared falling again through 2006, only to start climbing again in 2007. so what happened in 2007? the democrats took over congress.

Jeb was no moron as governor of Florida for two terms. Granted he sounds like he has gone soft or something, but he is likely the smartest of the bunch.
Then again, he tries to defend his brother far too much. His brother claimed to be conservative, but you cannot raise spending and approve unfunded entitlement programs left and right. Sure the Congress has the power of the purse, but he dropped the ball on his end as well.

They were all in on it. When it comes to spending OPM there's not a dime's worth of difference between Republicans and Democrats.
